
At the European Association of Labour Economists World Conference, June 25-27, 2020, Felix Koenig was awarded the Young Labour Economist Prize for his paper, "Technical Change and Superstar Effects: Evidence from the roll-out of Television."
The prize of € 500 is available for a single authored paper written by someone who has no PhD or received a PhD no longer than 3 years ago. Comments from the jury include:
He has written a very innovate paper which contributes to our understanding of the causes of income inequality at the top of the distribution. As this source of income inequality has increased so much in recent decades, it is a topic of great relevance to economists and policy makers.
Felix was a postdoctoral research associate at the Section during the 2019-2020 academic year. He joins Carnegie Mellon University, Heinz College as assistant professor in the fall of 2020.
