The Industrial Relations Section at Princeton is celebrating its 90th Anniversary this year. The Section was established in August of 1922 and was the first university research division in the country to specialize in industrial relations. Research activities in the Section have included the study of topics such as unemployment, racial discrimination, the economics of labor supply and retirement, education and school quality, the effects of minimum wages, labor turnover and job duration, quality of life issues, and law and economics.
