Robert LaLonde, a Princeton 1985 PhD and faculty member at the University of Chicago, died after a lengthy illness

Robert (Bob) LaLonde (1958-2018) died this week in Chicago from complications‎ of a unique neurological disease.  A former PhD student at Princeton and longtime collaborator with many people associated with the Industrial Relations Section, Bob's work on the evaluation of training programs was both influential and enduring. He spent most of his academic life at the University of Chicago, which was also his undergraduate alma mater. In 2015 many of Bob's collaborators, colleagues, and former students gathered in Chicago to celebrate his life and work by presenting papers on themes related to areas in which he had worked.  He was clearly delighted.
